The problem is that the atlanta metro is 70% of the state and it's chock full of Karens. They keep electing moderate RINOs because they don't like the way people like Doug Collins talk.
You are correct, but Atlanta's also chock full of transplants from other parts of the country (privately, we use the term "Yankees") as well as other countries altogether. It's unrecognizable from 20 years ago and barely even qualifies as a southern city any more. Our culture is lost. Our legislature is terrible, just thankful the governor is sane.
