I almost cried watching that. I know that the city's always been kind of a shithole, but there's a difference between a well-policed shithole that's home to a lot of idiot leftists, like it was under Giuliani, and a Leftist Shithole. I lived close enough to be in NYC in 15-20 minutes, and it wasn't a place I could live, but it was still part of my home. I can't just pop into the city for a day and experience it anymore because of where I moved to. Shit, I can't do that anymore because the city I knew doesn't exist anymore.
I fucking hate it. That fake named faggot sack of shit has done his damnedest to ruin something unlike anything else in the world. I know that the comparison is kind of insane, but to me, it would be like growing up in Little House on the Prairie, and then one day you come back to work and everything's been replaced by Whore Houses on the Prairie.

NYC is pretty fucked, along with the rest of the cities. With people suddenly finally noticing that many/most people can work from home really easily the need for cities has suddenly disappeared. Few people want to live in expensive shitty places if they don't have to.
nations have poured trillions of $ into building cities. for years, it's been clear that 'smart' would be the opposite of pushing people closer to those cities, yet the left keeps encouraging/prodding people into cities by policy and calling it 'smart growth'. what a crock of crap.
many people indeed are noticing that they dont need to be anywhere near a city to do their work, which is a GREAT thing. also a GREAT thing when parents realize they can teach their own children instead of allowing the government to take their kids all day and indoctrinate them.

I was just in downtown Seattle yesterday, the place should be overflowing with tourists, instead it was like this. Boarded up windows, closed business, homeless sleeping everywhere and I had to step over shit twice in one block

Think about places less famous than NYC. Think of your hometown, suppose you and your family moved away and never came back. If your hometown got destroyed one day would you hear about it? A few months ago, I’d think of course I would. Now, I’m not confident I would unless I searched out the information periodically.

Here's the thing, and I write this as a West Coast lifetime and generations resident in darkblueland and a former dutiful Dem voter and Bernie supporter:
They NEED TO implode of their own failed policies and acceraltionism of the leftist and idpol and globalist agendas.

This is possibly the most critical step to allow to naturally occur. If it does, the actual rejection by huge swaths of normal mostly unengaged typical liberals and Dem voters of the MSM and political narratives and pushed social/fiscal/legal agendas will happen.

Dealing with the concentration of lost people, the fallout and rebuilding, can happen later.

I work on 5th Avenue, all those boards are down now. My building paid between 20 and 30 thousand dollars to a crew to board up the perimeter. Both streets and both avenues. Other buildings didn't board up because the windows are so strong. 450,000 dollars a pane strong. Bricks and bats cant break them. 3 layers thick.
I work in NYC. This was at the time of the riots , not today.
