If you lived in my state, you'd think "hate" is too light. Our successful Republican governor lost to a piece of crap Leftist because the teachers bought into the Leftist's lies about them losing their pensions when in reality the Republican governor had them fully funded.
I am a teacher, and today was my first day back for the new school year. We had a district wide faculty meeting first thing this morning. There wasn't a teacher there that wasn't happy to be back. Don't lump all teachers in the same boat. We don't even have teacher unions here in Texas. I wore my "Make America Great Again" mask and my "Don't California my Texas" shirt and got nothing but compliments.
I part time date a school teacher who is beside herself with grief because she can't get back into the classroom in our county. She got her master's degree to work with emotionally and or special needs kids, like autism. It's the only thing she wants in life is to help these kids. She says it's impossible to connect with them via video teaching. I feel so bad for her but tenfold for the kids. It's just such an avoidable mess.
Teachers Unions are the bigger issue. It's a left wing political group that is extorting the country to push their agenda. Yea there's a lot of teachers who are pussies and don't want to work, but there's plenty of teachers who just want to get back and do their job.
Guess which teachers are going to get all the media attention, though. The ones who are protesting and do not want to go back to teach. Isn't it ironic that protesting to go back to work is dangerous and will spread the virus, but protesting because you don't want to work is socially responsible? The virus will only get you sick if you go to the protest to open back up.
Schools are so expensive. It's not just the cost of books and teachers. It also includes ancillary staff,welfare and benefits, and the cost of running and maintaining facilities. It would probably save the government money for parents to home school. Parents should be getting a $30,000 check every school year to spend on their kid's education. It's much better than the alternative of spending $30,000 a year housing and feeding prisoners,which most schools in the city are producing.
Evidence that Teachers Unions and school districts Nationwide decided Months ago on striking and or never considering having a 2020 school year is the fact there has been zero effort put forth all summer by them and school districts nationwide to set up precautionary measures physically in the schools like plexiglass in front of teachers desks, turning extra space like Gyms in to classrooms, creating outside classrooms on bleachers. They have had the whole summer and done jack shit. Parking lots are empty at every public school. They know that having public school canceled will hurt Trumps re-election chances. They will literally hurt Childrens developmental health to hurt Trump saying they are protecting childrens physical health.
