Sorry to hear that, hopefully a good lesson for you at your age of how effective propaganda can be.

Call the JOP. See if they can make it official. Hen have the "ceremony" part later.

My wife and I did that way back when, I was deploying over for Desert Shield/Storm didn't know when I would get back and we wanted to make it official before I left.
