That character was super based. In inverse to the actor.

"Was," they eroded the chr in every following movie. I'd say this movie was the peak of the marvel era. I wonder if someone was a little unhappy with the reception by the right? Hydra's plan was just the logical conclusion of social credit scores after all.

Unlike Thanos and the Gheto bastard of Wakanda, there was no subversive attempt to make the audience identify with the cause, either.

Yeah, the original line of Marvel movies were as good as it could get for superhero movies, but they slowly keep creeping towards social justice and by the end they had emasculated all the major heroes.

They made Thor a fat loser, made Bruce Banner and The Hulk a cucked faggot, Captain America became captain cuck, Turned Spider Man into a Spider Boy with his team of diverse teens to cover his back, and made him have to rely on Stark tech to even contribute.

They finally created the biggest Mary Sue ever with Captain Marvel. Thankfully they didn't completely cave in to SJW's kept her role limited in the last movie, after huge negative reaction by fans, but I think it's too little to late.

Marvel going forward is done, never going to pay another dime to them or see their movies anymore.

The most recent one that was any good was Doctor Strange, imo, but I have no hope for the direction the new one seems to be taking.

Recently re-watched the 90s era greats, The Shadow, Dick Tracy, and The Rocketeer. Easily beats anything Marvel has put out since Guardians 1 with virtually no cgi.

Guardians 1 was pretty good as well. It's basically the Male and Female hero myths combined, ala Beauty and the Beast, with an outside antagonist.

Guardians 1 is my favorite of the whole franchise, it's also one of the best space opera/adventures we've had since the 80s. (Surely the hyper 80s theme had nothing to do with that?)

Every time there's a president that the comic writers don't like is in office, they bring a philosophical crow bar to Captain America's knees. When Marvel Civil War was a big event, they ended by killing Capt America, saying that the Bush Jr Presidency killed America (personally I do find that a bit agreeable). Later on once Trump became POTUS, Capt America was written as a deep double agent for Hydra and has been working for them the entire time. That had to be retconned way later by a convenient poorly written dimension swap. Too many times too in the comics Capt America just hasn't been himself, either he's dead, or a double agent, or undercover.
