There is a place for socialist and communist policies without your entire governmental system going over to them. Labor unions, as they were originally created in the US, are one such piece. Today, they are garbage, but 100 years ago they were necessary.
I mean, unless you want your 8 year old working in a textile mill, or think it's totally cool if an employee gets fired for not being able to work when they are sick. Oh, you didn't realize that labor unions were instrumental in getting those practices outlawed?
They had their place. They weren't bad at the time that they were necessary. Today, they are nothing but communist hotbeds, I don't disagree at all. But viewing things only through the lens of the present is how Washington and Jefferson get their statues pulled down.
