In record time, they posted "updates" to all the news stories saying "This isn't going to do anything! It's not real!" and other mitigating bullshit language.
They just can not let him have a win, of any type, whatsoever.
Tencent is a Chinese company that pumped money into Reddit. Afterwards Reddit Admin and puppet Sub Mods amped up the censorship of conservative stories, comments and subs like the original T_D.
The "reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" was implied, so yes, it was sarcasm
Because the DemoKKKrats are in cahoots with China, the UN, and the EU to create the New World Order, destroying national boundaries, so that the NWO Global Governance Superstructure (global imperial dictatorship) can rule over all of us like the monarchs of old.
I might start calling it globally-organized dictatorship (god).
Because these egomaniacs think they are gods and rule by divine right.
Because we're the ones likely to discuss personal rights and freedoms. We're the ones posting content about Hong Kong protests, WuFlu coming from a region with no Horseshoe Bats, Tianamen Square Protest pictures, and Winnie the Poo pictures.
No, they don't like us - other than to say "Nice county. We'll take it."
Think of China like an inverse of Classical Liberalism. Classical Liberals emphasize freedom, so they tend to be socially liberal, but fiscally conservative. China is socially conservative and fiscally liberal. Large government that controls everything from what you produce and what you buy to what you can and can't do in bed and with whom. China are basically our generations Nazis, complete with their own ethnic genocide.
The left in America is a byproduct of Marxist indoctrination. Their ultimate goal, whether they know it or not, is to overthrow Capitalism and bring about a Socialist societal structure. That was the stated goal of the people who seeded the philosophical roots of their movement. Thus, the aims of China and of the American left are aligned. If China/The American Left are ever to succeed, whoever is taking power of this psychotically tyrannical regime will do away with all the hippie free-love types and we'll be just a carbon copy of China. the only interaction it has to do with Trump is that he's Classically Liberal and he's in the way of their aims. Hence why everything that is loyal to China is doing it's best to tear him down and smear him.
Being conservative does not automatically make them US allies. Every nation seeks and strives for economic growth and prosperity. They form alliances for their mutual benefits. So two countries can share some ideologies or history, but this might not result in a coalition in times of conflict.
Finally, being conservative is mostly common sense. If Chinese are anti-liberal crap, then this means they have smart people at the helms of the affair.
I don't there is a direct translation. They are also rabidly anti-religious, like ideas such as social credit scores and believe in an all controlling central government over individual freedoms so in those ways are very consistent with reddits user base. Leftism also never holds people universally to the same standard. So China being anti gay isn't a problems any more than it is for Islam. there is very little criticism in leftism for having differing cultural beliefs unless you are a Christian
I'm not up to date on the current Tencent stuff, but I remember around a year ago first hearing about them with the NBA stuff. That one coach mentioned Hong Kong and the NBA games in China were taken off Tencent and that's when the league started cucking hard for China. Not that the league wasn't cucked already, but the NBA/China controversy was largely about money and Tencent.
I have to say, I'll admit I was wrong about the micro-transaction model. It really has shitted up the industry.
I'd be willing to pay $70-80 a title if we went back to getting a good 40+ hours of solid content. Hell, I've played expansion packs from the late 90's early 2000's that had more content than a retail release nowadays.
Micro transactions are a perfect example of “you give them an inch and they take a mile.”
In theory I don’t have much wrong with micro transactions, but in practice holy fucking shit they have been crammed everywhere possible and then some. Hell they make “free” games that require a subscription to just open the fucking game or play longer than 10 minutes. Absolute horseshit.
With great power comes great responsibility and game devs have largely failed, and failed absolutely in this regard.
While it's not all games, to be sure, there are a few games I've played where you wind up lumped in with people from various parts of the world. Often the character names alone tell you who is from the US and who isn't.
If you run across someone with a character name like Crystal Norsdottir, or Jonathan Black, there's a 50/50 chance they are American or European. If you run across a Character named Suk Madik, or Ifuk Urmom, it's 99.9% chance it's someone from the US.
I also have never personally run into any players (again, my experience is limited to MMORPGs) who are constantly running in circles jumping jumping running jumping like a Ferret on crack that aren't from the US.
This might be a good shakeup for the industry. As someone who is an amateur dev learning UE, this might impact me some (TenCent has a 40% stake in Epic) but frankly I can't think of a single example of them being a positive influence on a developer or publisher.
That's right! Homogeneous Skinner box crap is not what anyone needs. It's seemed sick to me for a while now that American game companies would try to pander to a population that's probably just desperate to escape the totalitarian regime they live under.
I kinda get the skinner box thing, as I've always been a huge fan of ARPG's. PoE at least had enough build diversity to keep things interesting.
The ones I can't figure out are the German gamers who love stuff like logistics simulations. I just don't get it. Then again, a buddy of mine once said game genre's are a lot like sexual fetishes: Some work for you, some don't.
What I keep hoping for is a return to that awesome golden age towards the end of the PS1 era when there were all kinds of niche titles popping up, and when we really started seeing the first real "ports" of console/PC games to the other platform. The newest engines (UE4/5, etc.) make multi-platform releases a FAR simpler affair than any prior gen, and the bar to becoming a developer is lower now than ever before. The concept of the "hobbyist developer" is completely realistic.
Unfortunately, most of what gets shat out of the indie scene is LBGQT+ walking simulators, really bad visual novels, and "its totally not Mario/Metroid/etc" clones of SNES games. Frankly, I didn't spend what I did on my PC or console to play something that looks 20+ years old. I'm sick of retro "pixel" graphics and tired ass completely copy-pasted (not even derived, just lifted) gameplay loops.
League has been trash ever since they sold out to Tencent. If you know anything about the game, the past two champions they've released are literally mashups of their other champions with nearly nothing new about them other than the character model. Shit, Yone is almost a clone of Yasuo.
If video games can't exist without the CCP they shouldn't exist at all. Maybe kids will go outside and play with other kids huh? No sympathy what so ever if all video games go away forever.
Are we sure about that? Lots of the destructive leftist ideology that is leaking into video games is from the Chinese influence on our gaming industries.
Wasnt "mists of pandaria" just a way to get more chinese gamers? Also they removed skeletons that showed where players died to pacify the chinese. Plus battle pets are a blatant pokemon ripoff
Which is why we need to show up in November. The only reason we won in 2016 was because we showed up in such numbers the Left literally couldn't cheat fast enough. We need to do that again.
Absolutely. In it's current form, it's main purpose for existing is to be a far left indoctrination site. The front page is meticulously curated to push a single narrative.
Condé Nast Publications acquired Reddit in October 2006.
In 2011, Reddit became an independent subsidiary of Condé Nast's parent company, Advance Publications.
In October 2014, Reddit raised $50 million in a funding round led by Sam Altman and including investors Marc Andreessen, Peter Thiel, Ron Conway, Snoop Dogg, and Jared Leto. Their investment valued the company at $500 million then.
In July 2017, Reddit raised $200 million for a $1.8 billion valuation, with Advance Publications remaining the majority stakeholder.
In February 2019, a $300 million funding round led by Tencent brought the company's valuation to $3 billion.
Imagine a company that's so successful, even after selling ads and having users donate directly with "reddit gold" and such, you need to do fundraising every couple of years.
It's called rampant greed. Shareholders want their investment+profits quick so others are left holding the bag. Looks like none of the investors had faith in Reddit staying around too long.
See this is why I don't care if all video games go away. They have turned into predatory gambling devices and no longer really entertain you for the up front price of $60. That is just the cover charge to get into the loot box casino....all proceeds go to the CCP.
I'm sure the other win's KIA/KIA2 are already collating the pearl clutching of gaming "journalists" as Tencent has been buying up big there for some time now. Spyware is easy to hide and update in games...
This is why I have no problem pirating most newer games that come with DRM. If I'm paying you for a game I shouldn't have a worse experience than someone that didn't. So fuck you, I'm not going to pay for your game either and get the superior product.
Conservatives have been disenfranchised across the US media estate. Andrew Breitbart's response to being squeezed out by traditional media was to take advantage of new media - i.e the web/internet. And it worked.
it worked so well, that leftists are now squeezing conservatives in a medium that evens the playing field. The authoritarian left doesn't like that.
Still no posts from reddit moderator maxwellhill since Ghislaine Maxwell's arrest (https://old.reddit.com/user/maxwellhill/). The odds that it's her account are high and increasing.
If that is her account, reddit admins were also aware since they gave her the ability to moderate default global news subreddits. The obvious implication is that they gave Maxwell the ability to censor anything that might expose global trafficking. I hope they all get life in prison or the death penalty.
I was thinking the same thing. Trump is setting an example and Tiktok is low hanging fruit. The shareholders of the other major techs are probably telling their board to get their act together, because he can end them with the stroke of a pen.
Canadian here! Under the assumption that Trudeau isn't going to do jack to China (it continues to do so even after China imprisons and kills Canadians there) will this affect us at all?
That's hard to say, Canada isn't part of the United States. The main thing that happens here is Tencent loses money from otherwise unwary Americans who are pissed because they don't understand why their games are gone.
In record time, they posted "updates" to all the news stories saying "This isn't going to do anything! It's not real!" and other mitigating bullshit language.
They just can not let him have a win, of any type, whatsoever.
So it will be a forum for suicidal trannies?
Gonna be hard to deal with that 41% user base shrink.
Just all suicidal people
More or less a new tumblr at this point
Tencent is much further than just Reddit. It's epic games, fortnite, tons of money to Google through mobile apps.
ELI5 this situation please. Im lost
Tencent is a Chinese company that pumped money into Reddit. Afterwards Reddit Admin and puppet Sub Mods amped up the censorship of conservative stories, comments and subs like the original T_D.
That was a coincidence. T_D was spewing hate speech, bigot!
Lol
I'm not your bigot, hater.
I’m not your hater, fascist.
I'm not your hater, racist!
Are u being sarcastic?
I'd bet my white privilege it was sarcasm.
RIP white privilege.
Better than black privilege... apparently.
KEK
OMG thank you. That's my new favorite wager.

All things happen in politics that is anti American is motivated by the gaining of the dollar... or Yuan.
While also allowing subs like r/antifascistsofreddit to exist.
Because we're the ones likely to discuss personal rights and freedoms. We're the ones posting content about Hong Kong protests, WuFlu coming from a region with no Horseshoe Bats, Tianamen Square Protest pictures, and Winnie the Poo pictures.

Yes. They don’t view American Liberals as allies, they view them as idiots who can be bought off to weaken their own country.
The left in America is a byproduct of Marxist indoctrination. Their ultimate goal, whether they know it or not, is to overthrow Capitalism and bring about a Socialist societal structure. Same
"They just can not let him have a win, of any type, whatsoever."
They tried to not let us have a win either. So we made one for ourselves following the GEOTUS's example. :P
I'm glad this means the death of Diablo Immortal, that ill conceived mobile only trash blizzard was coproducing with Tencent.
this is catastrophic for the video game industry as a whole.
Yeah after writing that I realized pubg mobile and POE also affected. Probably more.
Also LOL and Clash of Clans. Top mobile and pc game around. Dayum!
So... freeware / pay-to-win garbage is threatened? Fine by me.
I have to say, I'll admit I was wrong about the micro-transaction model. It really has shitted up the industry.

And nothing of value was lost...
I dunno, PoE has been a little stale lately.
This might be a good shakeup for the industry. As someone who is an amateur dev learning UE, this might impact me some (TenCent has a 40% stake in Epic) but frankly I can't think of a single example of them being a positive influence on a developer or publisher.

Oh no, I only really played league. Guess now have to find a new game.
I've been on Clash of Clans 6+ years, but if it means fuckin China then its worth it!
Girls Frontline is my crack.
I know, isn’t it wonderful?

They'll just have to go back to Eternal Realms (DI was just a reskin of that, near as I can tell.)
Early and often.
Which is why we need to show up in November. The only reason we won in 2016 was because we showed up in such numbers the Left literally couldn't cheat fast enough. We need to do that again.
Do it again... Bigger, better, more of us.
We need to vote harder and deeper.
As if there’s literally not thousands of other messaging apps free and readily available to use.
Great video that relates to this.

Reddit is communist propaganda.
Absolutely. In it's current form, it's main purpose for existing is to be a far left indoctrination site. The front page is meticulously curated to push a single narrative.
Meticulously censored.
They’re a news publisher, not a museum.

Good riddance
does this mean lootboxes are illegal now finally?
I know I know... priorities
See this is why I don't care if all video games go away. They have turned into predatory gambling devices and no longer really entertain you for the up front price of $60. That is just the cover charge to get into the loot box casino....all proceeds go to the CCP.
Predatory gambling devices with no return on investment since that "skin" or that "virtual weapon" can't be traded.
Sadly Las Vegas is more honest than most video games these days.
I'm sure the other win's KIA/KIA2 are already collating the pearl clutching of gaming "journalists" as Tencent has been buying up big there for some time now. Spyware is easy to hide and update in games...
not to mention Anti-Cheat software that scans your entire PC for what software it is running etc.

Now do Epic Games/Fortnite
Tencent owns 40% of Epic Games. This will hurt them.
I was thinking the same thing. Trump is setting an example and Tiktok is low hanging fruit. The shareholders of the other major techs are probably telling their board to get their act together, because he can end them with the stroke of a pen.

Ruck Feddit!!
Reddit produces no tangible goods. If it digitally got swept up into a black hole the world would not suffer.
Same with Bitcoin.
Buy Gold.
A lot of the subreddits like food and nfl just changed their about page to be in Chinese and poking at Trump. Classic Cuckville
Fuck reddit and the CCP
Trump will end Reddit
