We've been doing it for years. Let me tell you, everywhere we go people compliment us on how well behaved our boys are and how smart they are. Do not for one second believe the "they'll suffer from a lack of socialization" myth. It couldn't be further from the truth.

The teacher's union is doing what's best for it by doing what's best for the democraps.

In the long run, they are shooting themselves in the foot. Teachers may want to be careful for the unintended consequences of their actions

You don't need a master's degree or even a bachelor's degree to teach kids history and shop and home ec.

Hire smart people with passion.

The truth of the matter is that the nuclear family is the best option. The father will provide for and defend his family. The mother will stay home and do the most important job there is, raising, with their husbands, good, God-fearing members of society.

Abolish unions, there usefulness is obsolete due to labor laws. Unions went down hill when the mob got involved. Think about how easy it would be to launder money by claiming funds as union dues. Look at the recent indictments in the UAW as an example.

Totally true. I have a child going into kindergarten and I think the biggest eye opener is seeing how simple the material is. What the school spends hours on can be done at home in 30min. I understand people do need it so they can work but doing home school isn’t as bad as you think

End public schools, govt sucks at almost everything it does!

If the Democrats and teachers unions want their communist indoctrination institutions to burn, let them. We're not gonna pay payroll tax for the rest of the year, and imagine what also not paying property taxes would feel like.

At least we’ve solved the school shooting problems.

As a parent. I hate these times, but it is nice getting a big fat affirmation that a great number of teachers and the teachers unions are entitled, selfish, greedy brats.

I love when teachers are like "I'm not going to die to teach your kid." You sure are comfortable eating that cheeseburger some other person's kid served your fat ass during the pandemic. Or going to target to buy whatever other garbage you can't live without.

How about the hospital workers that haven't had a choice but to take care of everyone during the pandemic for the past 5 months.

Virtue signalling, entitled, self-serving, pieces of shit. That's not to say there aren't good teachers, but the fact that more teachers aren't fighting to open schools shows you where the buck stops. And guess what... It's not when your children lose their education. It's where something might affect them negatively.

With everything I've seen in the past month, I guess teachers want to be treated as non-essential. We should oblige.

It is a myth. That doesn't even make any sense. Most homeschoolers I know are part of coops where all the kids can do extracurricular activities together.

Also non-social people don't suddenly become social if you throw them into the public zoo.

He is saying that parents take socialization into account, as homeschoolers the vast majority of the time participate in cooperatives for social events. ‘Home schooling’ does not mean living the hermetic life.

Additionally, most home school families are engaged at church, in their community, and they usually have large families.

This is ‘socialization’ without just being shuffled into the tsunami of public schools (where there is little guidance on how to PROPERLY learn to be a social citizen.

You claimed kids that are homeschooled have a lack of socialization. I stated that's a myth and kids that are homeschooled do not lack socialization. Not sure where the confusion lies.

As far as not making sense I meant the parts where you said "we need a replacement [for public schools]" -> kids are already socialized enough so that argument comes outta nowhere, and "sometimes many kids in private school, have a lack of socialization" makes even less sense and tends to defeat your point.

Never said anything about it being necessary or not, but yes "don't suddenly become social" is implying that most of those personality traits are already formed at a very young age. There is something to be said about becoming "less shy" or "breaking out of your shell" by forcing yourself to communicate with others - but I don't think public school is a good way to accomplish that and probably reinforces more negative social traits than positive ones.

Speech and debate classes and group projects are good ways to teach communication skills in my experience. Also making kids do volunteering where they have to interact with people.
