Crimea held a referendum and voted at 97% to reintegrate Russia with an 83% voter turn out. It was a given since over 65% of Crimeans speak Russian and only 15% speak Ukrainian, so obviously they consider themselves more Russian than Ukrainian . I don't really have a personal position on the Crimea situation but I do have a friend who is married to a Ukrainian woman from Crimea. When I asked him what his wife thought after Russia took over Crimea, he told me that she was indifferent because she felt like she was basically Russian anyway. Apparently most of the residents there have both Russian and Ukrainian passports (before the invasion). I tend to believe that the referendum was a legitimate election even though the West (mostly the Obamafag media) claimed it was rigged.
Then again that's what the Bush admin started selling to justify war, the MSM happily ran with it. It could it true, but who knows, they were called him that after the Iraqi ambassador's daughter said she saw soldiers killing babies in incubators in Kuwait under Bush 1, which never happened because we later found out she's never been to Kuwait so she like the Congress to get us into war, and nothing happened to her.
I could also look at it this way, if we relied on the Obama admin and MSM's opinion then we would all believe Trump was Hitler 2.0. Also the same thing for Gaddafi, who was an ally for 40 years until he decided that he wanted the Euro for extra dollars instead of the US dollar. Then all of a sudden he became the world's biggest tyrant, when in fact Libyia had the highest quality of life in Africa, surpassing most East European countries. So who to believe?

It was barely even “hostile”. It was an extremely well executed military operation resulting in very few casualties.
