Today I just purchased my first gun, a Kahr PM9. Haven't physically got it yet because I have to wait 4-5 days because of the background check backlog, but I was looking for ammo and while I heard it was getting harder to find holy hell I didn't think it was this bad! I want to get a decent amount because I figure I'll want a lot to practice with at the range, but damn practice is gonna be expensive if it's really going to be like this. What are the best sources? Any ideas?

Sucks big time. I paid $230 for 1k of 9mm pre pandemic. Makes me want to stay away from the range. Still get this and you can dry fire practice. I do it alot now, but normally in between range visits. It will make you better.
Yeah. I have 9mm, 380 and 5.56. it's great to practice handguns in the house. My neighbors really like me running around my back yard with my AR too 😉. The app has a quick draw add on that's really great too.
Oh my God this is genius! I love that, I'll definitely have to look into it.
I'll check them out, thanks!

Thats actually not bad at all compared to what I was seeing, thanks!
Just so you know ammo manufacturers are working full speed.
Pay somebody who works in that dept. to call you when they are getting a delivery.
In blue state hell, all ammo is sold out, and no one will ship to us direct since the politicians have deemed it illegal.
Try “Want to buy” on Armslist. Managed to find a guy who sold me 200rds each of 380 & 9 and 500rds of 223 within a day of posting for all three for about $175. The 9s & 223s were reloads but the 380s were brand new.

Yep. Had good luck there recently for multiple calibers.
I've been very pleased with them over the years. They once got my order wrong and told me to keep it--no charge, and then sent what I had ordered. Some great deals to be had on their LEO trade ins too. Fortunately I stocked up when ammo was cheap. Feel bad for the new gun owners out there.
Same. Have had a nice stash, but still used them recently just to make a purchase. Even with covid delays it only took 9 days to get here.
