The Watergate hoax was perpetrated very shortly after the death of J Edgar Hoover. Its no accident that the FBI "leaked" the Watergate evidence to The Washington Post, Hoover was murdered so that his disloyal eunuch servants could take over the department and use the FBI to undermine Nixon.
