Potempkin Village: we've seen the comic of the figure sitting at the table as the room burns - 'this is fine.'

The fabled Potempkin Village was a facade moved about to create the impression of organized, productive towns to fool the enemy, named after the doomed general under Catherine the Great.

The irony is thick.
