Leftists shout about shifting money from police into education or healthcare to solve the same problems. Spending on policing is $0.1 trillion. Spending on education is $8.1 trillion and healthcare is $3.5 trillion. If you took 100% of police funding, you wouldn’t increase education and healthcare spending by even 1%. Defunding the police to fund education and healthcare is a lie.

I have a college level math background and the principles behind common core are a much better way to prepare for college math degree programs. If you want to prepare children for very rigorous STEM programs, common core is significantly better than the majority of prior programs.
A one size fits all approach doesn’t make sense and the standardized testing leads to bad incentives for educators. Many “educators” tasked with teaching to common core math don’t actually understand math well beyond reciting formulas. Many students will not enter the most rigorous STEM programs and might be better served by spending that time on trade skills or building social skills by participating in team sports. These education decisions need to be made locally to fit community needs.
which is why we have millions of children going into stem and not becomming face tatooed barristas......oh wait.
