I've been noticing this more and more. Equating just going along with whatever the government or (CCP-backed) corporate overlords say to being "patriotic." Fuck out of here with that shit. Being a patriot is loving your country and protecting the liberties and rights of your fellow citizens from exactly what they're trying to do.
