Yes, but energy aware people see that even if the electricity was generated from the foulest of Coal plant, it is generated in a much more efficient manner than individual 'gas powered' engines kWh for kWh and reduce emissions overall. The 'remote tailpipe' story is a myth proven over and over again.

A single polluting coal plant generating power for 1 million electric cars, will be much cleaner than 1 million individual gas powered car. ICE efficiency (~37%) is just not that good even compared to coal plants

5
traveravis 5 points ago +6 / -1

Coal plants are about 37% efficient. You just gotta look it up

Friendly reminder than Indiana is a stand your ground state.

Ergo, this happens to you in Indiana, duck so you're covered by your engine and then floor it... to get away from trouble.

SirPokeSmottington 20 points ago +20 / -0

Friendly reminder than Indiana is a stand your ground state.

Not only that...

Indiana is a protect your property, using deadly force state.

AND

They passed the 'no civil suit for deadly force' law that means you cannot be sued by the estate/survivors for killing their son that was just jogging.

Engine block will stop rifle rounds.

And then engine will stop when the water jacket is pierced.

Engine block as bulletproof object is only good, if you plan on defending your static position against a hoard of BLMers.

5
ronburgandy 5 points ago +5 / -0

Cast iron block definitely helps but they don't build too many of em these days. Both my vehicles have cast iron blocks and heads and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Right, and I'm just pointing out, your escape will be stymied by the engine no longer working.

Too bad batteries have shit weight to power and cant handle winter weather.

3
booblitchutz 3 points ago +3 / -0

The batteries also require fans to run on them constantly in very hot weather like you get in, oh I dunno AUSTIN, so having a Tesla in Texas is, shall we say: stupid?

2
PNWArtist 2 points ago +4 / -2

Having a Tesla anywhere is stupid.

2
booblitchutz 2 points ago +2 / -0

Agreed but I am especially floored by people in south Texas having them considering how they constantly have to run to keep the batteries from overheating! Can I pay 100k for a car that I can never turn off that requires a lengthy charge (thanks to the lack of “quick charge” sites, which still takes a half hour).

3
thisguy883 3 points ago +3 / -0

I had to take an Uber to the airport and the guy who picked me up was in a Tesla. This was in San Antonio.

I asked him all sorts of questions about it, and it seems like a nice vehicle to own tbh if you plan on driving around the city alot.

I asked him about the quick charge stations and he pulled up a GPS map on that big display console and click on charging stations. To my surprise, there was quite a bit all over the city and all along the major highways going to Austin and Houston.

He says when he charges, he walks inside to take a piss, grab a coffee and something to munch on and by the time he gets back to his car, it's almost charged. Total time he says it takes, is about 15 mins. When he charges at home, it takes like 8 hours for a full charge, but it doesn't kill the electric bill which was another question I asked.

It really made me think about getting one myself because my drive to work is a killer on gas. But then this scamdemic happened and I work from home now.

But once the country opens again, I may actually consider buying one. At a full charge, those things can travel up to 350 miles. Not bad. He mentioned the newer models will be able to travel further.

That truck though is hideous.

4
PNWArtist 4 points ago +5 / -1

Electric is shiite.

2
Ferrous_Tarkus 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm not saying it was superior. I'm just pointing out differences.

That is 100% brandishing and I don’t believe Indiana is open carry. These people are definitely breaking the law.

92
UnwaveringDefiance 92 points ago +92 / -0

Even in open carry states, brandishing is a crime. In some cases, even as a threat for self defense so always assume if a gun is drawn, it WILL be fired.

72
FlimboFlongins 72 points ago +72 / -0

Brandishing is very clearly demonstrated in this photo, and that is not Legal. Felony Menacing is another stack on the Charge Sheet.

17

7
SirPokeSmottington 7 points ago +7 / -0

that most people can get one in less than a week.

No, this is misinformation now.

Not saying you are WRONG, just misinformed, due to the change that made the LTCH free.

Wait time is approximately 3-4 weeks now, because of long lead time to get fingerprints, limited facilities to get fingerprinted, and a backlog in processing applications.

Correct, I was just clarifying the "not open carry" part of his comment

1
KAG_Party 1 point ago +2 / -1

Indiana has a handgun license, not concealed carry, so open carry is allowed. Obviously this is not "carry", this is brandishing.

1
Edxx3 1 point ago +1 / -0

Open carry of handguns requires the license. The license also covers concealed carry.

9

Reminder that bullets move 1100-3200 FPS, far greater than the speed of a car traveling at 100 MPH.

True - but most idiots cant hit the broadside of a barn from 20 yards. You just need that 100 mph to get you far enough away that they are more likely to shoot there fellow commies, than you. See the Jeep that was just cruising down the interstate when BLM decided to shoot at it.

I emailed the Marion County Sheriff's office to ask them just that.

[email protected]

I also texted a public relations liason to the Mayor to ask the same thing.

Per Indiana Code §35-47-4-3 brandishing is a felony.
Per Indiana Code §35-42-3-3 this is criminal confinement, a forcible felony.
Per Indiana Code §35-41-3-2,
A person is justified in using deadly force against any other person to protect the person or a third person from what the person reasonably believes to be the imminent use of unlawful force and does not have a duty to retreat if the person reasonably believes that that force is necessary to prevent serious bodily injury to the person or a third person or the commission of a forcible felony.

Good reason to keep an AR pistol handy in the car.

4
sagebrushfire 4 points ago +5 / -1

Why? So you can be arrested when the moron you shoot, dies? We are at a point in this country where the victims are the perpetrators and the criminals are regarded as heroes.

6
holytrpbatman 6 points ago +6 / -0

Jury trial if this is the case. Better to be judged by twelve than carried by six.

2
EvilGuy 2 points ago +2 / -0

Couldn't Trump pardon those people? That would send a strong message.

I am guessing he likes to see these armed peaceful protestors though since a) it's hard to say they are peaceful and have people believe it and b) no one feels sympathy for these guys.

If they were just marching and singing and carrying candles and someone mows them down they would actually get some public sympathy. These look more like scenes from some 3rd world country.

3
LavonAffair 3 points ago +4 / -1

President can only pardon for federal crimes, not state & local

1
T-Bear 1 point ago +1 / -0

I really hate saying this, but it has to be said.

We who back the Blue will do so only so long as they act in our interests.

Once the police consistently indicate they will allow the rioters full reign and arrest all who defend themselves, then I hate to say this: the police then become part of the problem, and Average Joe American has no recourse BUT to regard police as the enemy.

As it is with producing, so it is with law-abiding: once it is clearly demonstrated there is no advantage in participating, people stop participating.

This is a carjacking.

32
Thepeter 32 points ago +32 / -0

Yeah no matter what, the guy is in the process of committing a crime, per IC 35-41-3-2 Section 2, subsection J, he's not allowed to use a gun at all for protection from imminent bodily harm.

14
0nlyL0s3rsC3ns0r 14 points ago +14 / -0

Honda cucks the towing capacity for US suvs.

My exact same car in Europe has a 3500lb rating. Here it’s 1500lb and limited to class 1

8
OGTD1 8 points ago +9 / -1

Every European has a trailer for holiday and a sweet German made diesel wagon. E350 bluetec wagon is a fantastic car or an Audi avant

4
Thegman 4 points ago +4 / -0

Honda likely doesnt change anything. US towing standards are more strict.

1
GreatNW 1 point ago +1 / -0

Maybe a bit less power due to emissions differences but I'd wager its largely to do with the ratings.

2
tsacian 2 points ago +2 / -0

Assuming the SUV or car is also made in the USA.

1
Gtodareg 1 point ago +1 / -0

My F150 stx was the same price new as the Toyota highlander that we traded in for it. I digress, both are very overpriced, but we like the truck much better. More power, 4wd, tons of space, and seats the same 6 people as the highlander did, and now we can pull a travel trailer which is why the wife wanted to trade her suv.

1
TedCruzAteABoogaloo 1 point ago +1 / -0

3
OGTD1 3 points ago +3 / -0

10
deeluna 10 points ago +10 / -0

Don't get the 2021 f150, to much electronic gadgetry that can disable the vehicle and relatively low torque. Get something that can run without the gadgetry... the F250 with the older power stroke will go through them without being slowed down. Extra points for rolling coal.

3
Abovethefray 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah, that diesel is a beast engine... my F150 has the gas v-8, anyway...nice truck! Lot of advancements in ride in the last decade. Thing rides like a Mercedes.

2
0nlyL0s3rsC3ns0r 2 points ago +3 / -1

F250 is way too big tho and tbh I enjoy the tech stuff especially the automation features like lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control.

7
Work2gethrBiglyOrDie 7 points ago +7 / -0

Some tech apparently keeps you trapped and unable to flee if someone stands in the path of your parked car. And eventually they will probably give their minions a device that disables your vehicle on the road.

6
deeluna 6 points ago +6 / -0

that lane assist and adaptive cruise can actually be used against you if attacked. All they have to do is get in your way and slow down and the the lane assist, it's better to not be that distracted. As for the size. A fair point.

the point I was making was, there ars a lot of sensors not related to comfort in vehicles, many of which if they don't work right will disable the vehicle. The sensors relating to the adaptive cruise will not disable you directly, but outside influence can force it off the road.

3
0nlyL0s3rsC3ns0r 3 points ago +4 / -1

I have those features in the car i drive now. They can be disabled with a single button.

The lane keep assist actually has to be manually enabled every single time the car is started.

I do however understand the broader point you are making.

1
spezisapedo 1 point ago +1 / -0

i hate the soi bois too, but as a motorcycle rider it does suck when I have to drive behind someone rolling coal. If there is a purpose then I can try to be more understanding, but it seems kinda pointless. No need to pollute just for the fuck of it. You wouldnt just throw your trash on the ground would you?

1
deeluna 1 point ago +1 / -0

Nah the point of rolling coal is a result of a tune that boosts power. As for the "pollution," the black smoke is nothing but ash. That falls to the ground. And is easily absorbed by plants. It's not the air pollution every environmentalist claims it is.

I will note that it's not good for your lungs obviously.

Antifa/BLM are actively seeking to murder a driver and get away with it.

Provo, Austin, Aurora, and now Indianapolis.

21
SuperDuty4x4 21 points ago +21 / -0

Don't forget Seattle where they killed a 16 year old driving a SUV in "the Chaz".

53
Bigmanwins 53 points ago +53 / -0

I wonder if the DNC is taking those guns from police evidence lockers in blue zones and distributing among their rioters?

32
patriot51 32 points ago +32 / -0

Probably more truth to that than we will ever know.

9
learntocode 9 points ago +9 / -0

hitek and plastic glocks dont need a license if you are going to commit crime in the first place

200 to 300$ and a box of ammo and now you are an armed militant highwayman

play stupid games, prizes incoming

1

illegal guns are breddy easy to buy

but they are also a waste of money and a risk not worth taking unless you want some miitary grade hardware or something special or stolen or that you intend to use for bad guys stuff

How is this not brandishing? If a corrupt DA can charge the St Louis couple for drawing their guns on their own property, a non-corrupt DA can charge these BLM for drawing their guns on public roads in order to intimidate and stop cars to further the BLM movement.

15
LUXURY_USERNAME 15 points ago +15 / -0

It is brandishing.

That. Is. Brandishing a firearm. Under most circumstances that is ILLEGAL in Indiana. Infuriating. Those "protesters " are assaulting the driver of that truck. Fortunate to still be alive.

I would have used the truck for a self defense weapon.

29
Winged_Splinter 29 points ago +29 / -0

There is so much going on in the picture. First, they should be instant roadkill. Next, is that George Floyd to the far right over the hood? Lastly, wtf is going on with that dude in the back with his leg and foot at that strange angle? Is that the soyboy shooting stance?

10
KakarikoKing 10 points ago +10 / -0

Yes, these malnourished Marxist punks have been led to believe that pistols have so much recoil (they don't know from experience because they've never actually fired them) that they had to practice a wide stance because they're afraid they will be knocked out of their boots if they actually fire.

4
Winged_Splinter 4 points ago +4 / -0

Probably not too far from the truth. Soy and plant diet makes them brittle.

3
KakarikoKing 3 points ago +3 / -0

One of the many reasons I'm glad I married a cattle rancher's daughter! We eat pretty healthy, but meat will never be off the menu.

We eat pretty healthy, but BECAUSE meat will never be off the menu.

Fixed that for you, pardner

3
KakarikoKing 3 points ago +3 / -0

Hah, thanks. Good fix. I did not mean to imply that I believe meat is unhealthy.

3

We eat pretty healthy, BUT meat will never be off the menu.

eat healthy BUT also meat?

Dude.

Beef is THE ULTIMATE health food.

meatheals.com

I've eaten 99.9% beef for the last 2 years and my cholesterol is perfect, got COVID-19 in February and my immune system knocked it out in a week. NGL, the recovery was a bitch but I got over it.

Once my gut flora adapted, it's all I CAN eat.

Never been so healthy.

Eat AALLLL the beef you want, your body will thank you for it.

Zero Carb carnivore - it worked for hundreds of thousands of years, but now suddenly it's bad for you? FFS

11

I cannot find a single thing. I'm from Indy and have to drive down town today........

SPEZ: Found the video.

Someone please tell me how I report this person.

7
thetruthfl33 7 points ago +7 / -0

Wow. I too thought that this pic/frame grab might be fake, but it's real.

This video and frame grab should be on their front page with a big, bold headline of "Armed BLM protesters threaten Peaceful driver!"

The suppression of the disgusting BLM antics is nationwide, at every level. It's truly sickening.

3
Edxx3 3 points ago +3 / -0

I want it too! The cursor in the screenshot has an "INDYSTAR" reference under it, but i checked the Indy Star twitter page, and found nothing. Also, I don't recognize the intersection in the picture at all, so I dont have any more info to use for a search.

These turds are going to get slaughtered sooner or later. Anyone blocks my way with a weapon drawn is a deadly threat and will be treated as such.

This is how checkpoint bandits and kidnapping criminals get their start. This is what the protests have been about: chaos, lawlessness, hurting Americas basic ability to protect our God given rights.

2
tufftoffee 2 points ago +2 / -0

I didn't know I was in Mexico.

2
learntocode 2 points ago +2 / -0

They are specifically protesting the Dreasjon Reed incident. Where he ran from cops, then took two shots at them, and the cops returned fire, killing him. This was all streamed live by Reed.

“The magazines of both guns show bullets had been fired,” he said. “It appears the gun found near the individual was fired at least twice.”

OhLollyLollyPop 4 points ago +4 / -0

So they are protesting someone being shot by cops while deploying guns against innocent civilian travelers? In a public thoroughfare?

What the hell is wrong with Indianapolis officials? This isn't a protest, it's a threat.

9

I saw the guns and feared for my life. I need to speak to my lawyer. (NOT ANOTHER WORD).

8
TheironToaster 8 points ago +8 / -0

This called Brandishing and it can get your firearm and carry licence confiscated. If i am not allowed to do this as a legal carrier why are they allowed? Its not self defense if you put yourself into the dangerous situation in the first place.

His wife's clothes, because her boyfriend got his.

7
NotoriousCIC 7 points ago +7 / -0

How are you not a domestic terrorist by stopping cars and blocking freeways while pointing guns at them? Guarantee not a single one of these idiots is a member of the NRA.

7
CorrectTheReeeecord 7 points ago +7 / -0

If there is a gun and a person trying to stop you, you are then allowed to zoom on through as it is now an ARMED ambush. Do not become a statistic or victim to this weak shit.

6
Smurfection 6 points ago +6 / -0

Blocking roads without a permit is breaking the law. These rioters are brandishing a gun while breaking the law. This is a felony. Both of them should go to jail for at least ten years.

You know, this is some Zimbabwe level shit, here in America. This idea needs to be stomped out, now. This level of lawlessness is not acceptable in our country. President Trump, people are needed, to fix this attitude, like yesterday.
