A new solar system, lol. Makes it sound like Elon has figured out a way to condense space dust into planets.

Feasible solutions start with nuclear power providing a baseload of about 60% of our grid. Until that has no more opposition the rest of it won't get much results. Renewables max out at about 30%. That leaves little need for fossil fuels, and no need for coal.

The hardest part about nuclear is keeping enough demand overnight. Having everyone charge their commuting vehicle overnight, requiring a complete rebuild of our grid, is a great solution to all this. Our smog would be cut down dramatically. This can't happen quickly. And AOC is an idiot.

How this would impact our oceans would be sluggish. How it is capable of cleansing itself from CO2 remains to be seen

I'm sure most of us will either way since it will be likely that fossil fuel-powered vehicles will no longer be in production by that point. Biggest challenge aside from batteries and charging would be reworking repair shops and mechanic schools for electric cars.

Musk is one tragic event from turning into a straight up comic book villain.
