Maybe i'm just horrible person. Please convince me that it's bad to abort a baby with down syndrome. Because religion? I'm against most abortion but if your baby is going to, for their entire lives, be a burden to everyone, isn't it unfair to them to knowingly bring them into the world?

Abortion is bad because it kills a baby. But a down syndrome baby is bad because it kills the parents, slowly over time as their resources get wasted on a nonproductive member of society. I'm talking about the drooling vegetables, not the the happy high functioners that end up bagging groceries. Problem is, you will never know which one it will be until it's too late.

Your normal kids, if you can have any, get screwed as your time is wasted on the severely retarded one if they end up being the severely retarded kind. I hate abortion, but I would not be willing to take the chance. Why risk having one like that, when you can try again and have several functional kids and a normal family? I feel like this is the natural conclusion people would make, but unfortunately, while natural things are good, nature doesn't care for being "nice" and "polite". The truth - that choosing to try for a normal family down the line is better than risking only having the one severely retarded child - is ugly, but it is the truth.

Says the person who never shared his life with one. My Downs friends are hella nicer than most of my normie friends and they sure as hell don't sit around talking about how the world would be better off without me. They laugh, sing, and have a great time.

I love them.

I am talking about the vegetables. Your friend doesn't sound like a vegetable. Also, how do you know if I've never shared my life with one? What if I have personal experience with what I was talking about (again, the low functioning ones)?
