I live in Portland. The entire city government endorses the violence and wants it to keep happening. We have a very strange situation here where the mayor of Portland is also the police commissioner, so he basically has total control of the police. People get arrested, often multiple times, and the DA releases them all with no bail and no charges. Its government sponsored terrorism. Period. Why the police haven't coordinated themselves and arrested the mayor, city council, and DA is beyond my comprehension. I really don't think the actual members of the police want the chaos and nightly violence.
It stops when good people go after the police force. They have handcuffed law abiding citizens and are the enemy.
