I get this all the time in person. You go to some gathering and despite the fact nobody's talking about politics, some moronic Leftist turd in the punch bowl opens the door by bringing up some Leftist lie/talking point. The second you counter them you get, "Oh, I don't want to get into politics...this isn't the time or place."

A few times at really boring gatherings, if someone pulled this crap, I'd follow them around so I'd be within earshot the entire time and make it obvious that I'm going to pounce if they open their mouths again.
