Bandanna

Fold the top over, away from your nose a few times. This makes the part over your mouth shorter and gives more ventalation. Also on hot days soak bandanas in cold water and that makes it easier to breathe through. Also reverse it off your face to keep sun off the back of your neck.

Find a very light one. Don’t tie it tightly. And they are less noticeable when you slip them down

Someone here gave a great idea a while back. If you have or have access to a high-altitude (elevation) training mask, just remove the filters from it.

As an added benefit, it makes you look more badass than the typical lame mask. The effect is somewhat lessened if you look like someone who's never seen the inside of a gym (in other words, like me).

90 weight cheesecloth. Works like a charm. Like wearing nothing at all. Ordered off Amazon and hired a seamstress to make me some...easy peasy

I saw a clerk wearing a mask made from mosquito netting.

I bee keeper helmet would be kind of funny.

I made masks out of a gauze like material, usually used as a baby swaddle, but it is very breathable and I often forget it is there. Found it at a Hobby Lobby, the gaps between the fibers are big enough to breathe comfortably and not recycle CO2 but still small enough to not be able to see your mouth behind and give away that it's not a "real mask" especially if you get a dark colour.

Get some "sheer" drapery fabric from a craft store or home depot. Either that or mosquito net over your head is pretty funny.
