Uh serious question though, how does SS and Medicare stay funded without it? Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to cut payroll out indefinitely, but those programs really aren’t sustainable and those two programs are necessary. Is there something I’m missing? I wouldn’t assume that Congress is going to stop dipping into those programs. They’d definitely let our parents and grandparents starve and go without healthcare coverage before they cut a penny themselves.

That’s actually my point (+1 you’re completely right and I fully agree). They’re funded almost entirely by payroll taxes. Without the payroll taxes, the Ponzi scheme that is Medicare and SS completely collapses. In an ideal world Congress balances the budget, but in reality RINOS and Democrats steal from our seniors who have paid into the system and truly can’t re-enter the workforce.
