And Payroll tax freeze, student loan 0% interest and indefinitely paused, halting evictions...the fuck do we even need congress for at this point? Get rid of all of em and start over.

However I do like your spunk, there was a reason our forefathers decided to have 3 branches of governement. Even though the retards control congress, and we dont like it, it is necessary so no one branch holds power over the whole.

If the 2 legislative cant get along then we have The Donald! doing Bigly for us. We cant just throw them out of congress because we dont like their shit, or we end up with a dictatorship.

Shakakka99 46 points ago +52 / -6

There need to be new laws - especially in times of crisis - that dictate strictly pure bills can get through congress without any pork added. When one side sees the opportunity to fulfill fantasy wish lists by holding the other side hostage over a national crisis, something's permanently fucked.

40
Symko 40 points ago +42 / -2

Oh hell no! This is a fabricated Scamdemic. We don't need any more new laws. We need to arrest the people who lied to us for all of 2020 about the dangers of Chyna virus and Hydroxychloriquine.

Without those jackasses, Trump wouldn't have had to do this. The blood of innocent Americans is on their hands.

22
2SmoothGQ 22 points ago +22 / -0

Ya agreed. My biggest wish list as far as shit in Congress is term limits and limited to one action per bill. No reason that I shouldn’t be able to take ten minutes out of my day and read a bill and understand everything about it.

13
Psilocybik 13 points ago +13 / -0

And it's always one side with the pork. Fucking Democrats, never letting any crisis go to waste.

‘Member when only landowners could vote? That is, only people with skin in the game? Harder to pass “I’ll give you gibs for your vote” when the voters are the ones who’d be shafted by that crap.

Congress is no longer any semblance of the branch of government the founders intended. They have to sell their souls to get elected. Then they are purely representatives of their donors. They have not represented their constituents for generations.

5
BigPepeEnergy 5 points ago +5 / -0

Right, their stated function in the Constitution is to make Legislation. More than anything anymore, they bloviate and leave the rule making to the various Agencies and Commissions that they've empowered over the years through vague legislation. Instead of serving, they campaign 24/7 so that one day, they can get off the ride, join a Lobbyist firm, cash in for a 7 figure salary and sell the rest of us down the river. The Legislative Branch isn't doing its job, and hasn't for a while.

9
FutileConundrum 9 points ago +9 / -0

I think term limits of 12 years for Senate and House with reasonable tenure benefits would solve a lot of issues.

7
unicornpoop 7 points ago +7 / -0

They also should have to freeze their assets while in office, with mandatory audits of campaign finances.

I don't hear anyone asking "How can the government possibly survive a payroll tax freeze?"

I question why we even have a payroll tax.

Learn how to do your taxes . I have my children enrolled in private school but I still pay tax on public school so I deduct the total amount per each child and if the government doesn't like it they can go fuck themselves . Been doing it for 9 years without any issue . Not saying I won't have to go to court over it at some point but I refuse to pay for crotch spawn public schools because I don't use them . Same with public libraries, etc . I don't use them so I won't pay for them . Even if you have children in public schools you should still deduct the free jogger breakfast/lunch program if you already feed your children!

My car? It's my commercial vehicle.

Food? Mentioned literally anything work related and write half that off.

Home office? Write off a percentage of your mortgage.

Phone? Obviously a write off, you can't do business without it.

You can find a way to write off damn near anything, but your P & L is gonna show some major expenses. Which is whatever. It's up to you.

It's still America, you do as you please.

8
PopeJohnPaulJones2 8 points ago +8 / -0

It’s about TOTAL receipts, more money to ppl and biz means more spending and investment and more TOTAL tax collected. And more jobs and opportunity for everyone

4
PopeJohnPaulJones2 4 points ago +4 / -0

But I agree they should address this explicitly

7
BuckyforTrump88 7 points ago +7 / -0

Do you advocate for cutting or eliminating SS/Medicare?

2
based_retard 2 points ago +4 / -2

they are literally 66% of our debt. They must go and be replaced with a market alternative

1
bexit 1 point ago +1 / -0

The reason SS/Medicare works is because it's large enough to weather economic storms in such a way that individual investments never can for 99.9% of people. This is an absolutely terrible thing to do. They were created because our injured and elderly were in the streets. There is no safe market alternative.

It's an absolutely retarded idea to remove such a large chunk of money from the economy, creating an environment where people fear spending money because they now have to save every cent against medical bills and old age. No velocity of capital = dead economy.

Fuck student loans , pay for your own babysitting

7
Fortybattletoa 7 points ago +7 / -0

Bro I need student loans otherwise I couldn't pay for school.

8
BigMikesBlackCock 8 points ago +10 / -2

I believe in student loans for stem but regardless you should still repay the shit ! You think the tax payer should pay for your schooling?

5
deleted 5 points ago +5 / -0
7
TychoDurandal 7 points ago +18 / -11

Student loans should be forgiven but the proceeds to do that with should be taken from every university endowment; not the tax payer. No school needs $1B let alone $30B.

That’s where the illgotten bullshit loan proceeds went anyway.

6
BigMikesBlackCock 6 points ago +14 / -8

Student loans absolutely should not be forgiven you liberal cuck !

3
TheThreeSeashells 3 points ago +3 / -0

Why should they be forgiven? If I took out a loan for a Rolls Royce so I could go buy milk and eggs in style, what right do I have to complain and expect that loan to be forgiven because I made a stupid decision?

Extremely fked up... it was a brainwashing from when I first set foot in kindergarten.

I extremely REGRET bothering with college and seriously wished I had better guidance in my life.

But, what's done is done, and while payments are technically suspended for covid relief.... that 0% interest still has me throwing cash at that principle while I can take advantage of it!

5

Dude we have dictator style governors closing businesses and churches. People cannot fucking work. Temp social programs work. Right now the Dem commie governors and Mayors look like idiots.

3
longtimelurker123 3 points ago +3 / -0

A great time to get the push you need to start your own business or create something worth money

4
ChuckedIntoAVan 4 points ago +4 / -0

Interest should be frozen, and refunded to people who have paid off their loans already. That’s the problem with forgiveness, it punishes the ones who paid their debts, and the ones who never even took out any loans at all.

2
Taicho116 2 points ago +2 / -0

8
DarkMemeDuck 8 points ago +9 / -1

They will argue that Washington is going to go broke without all our payroll tax dollars.

Honestly income tax should be blown away, and we should stick to only sales tax. Can't dodge that tax, and everyone has to pay it, illegal or not.

4
NormaJeanRocks 4 points ago +4 / -0

I bet they'll say its not enough and wont issue it until everyone agrees on more.

9

7
Psilocybik 7 points ago +7 / -0

That's exactly what they did with the tax cuts they fought so much. Breadline Bernie said 'why aren't they permanent?'

Then Ted Cruz offered to work with him on a bill to do just that, and of course Bernie didn't.

2
Brave1884 2 points ago +4 / -2

They won’t, there just going to say it’s not enough. They’re gonna double down on republicans since they could pass the house but republicans wouldn’t pass the senate. I think they wanted this, although I doubt they saw Trump going $400 and zero on tax’s and SL interest. I don’t agree with the $400 not current payroll tax, but I understand it’s need for re-election.

My issue is the payroll tax is a deferment (it will still be payed) and it’s only for salaries under 100k. Their is also serious issue that our federal budget doesn’t have the funds to support it.

2
TheThreeSeashells 2 points ago +3 / -1

My issue is the payroll tax is a deferment (it will still be payed)

Mine too. I was happy when I heard the general announcement, but, unless I'm interpreting it wrong, it sounds like people are just going to get screwed on the back end. "Here's some more money now...but you're going to get a lot less starting next year." In that case, I'd rather opt-out of it and just keep things as is. I get the idea it will be like the tolls to pay for bridges: The bridge was paid off 20 years ago, but the tolls have gone up 500% since then and we're going to continue to pay higher tolls in perpetuity.

They aren't the brightest people. I guess that's what makes them dangerous.

14
2016TrumpMAGA 14 points ago +14 / -0

They're fucked. They have no choice but to cave on a bill that covers just the items in the executive orders. Any lawsuit to stop the EOs will be a political disaster for the Ds.
