My car? It's my commercial vehicle.

Food? Mentioned literally anything work related and write half that off.

Home office? Write off a percentage of your mortgage.

Phone? Obviously a write off, you can't do business without it.

You can find a way to write off damn near anything, but your P & L is gonna show some major expenses. Which is whatever. It's up to you.

It's still America, you do as you please.

Amen, but if you get a W-2 from Burger King and itemize your deductions without a side business in your name it might look a bit dodgy.

Not everyone works in an industry where they can write their automobile off. But if you do work in one that typically does itemize and take the standard deduction anyway you're an idiot that is leaving money on the table.

I've seen it done by people that are too risk averse and government-fearing.
