There have been plenty of breathless articles by journalists convinced they are Very Smart People who insist that if you just squint hard enough, redefine a few words here and there, maybe apply some abstract post modern idpol stuff, that Trump's actions almost sort of resemble something Hitler mentioned one time.

Well of course jews were persecuted but the number is far, far lower than six million. Doesn't make it any better but there's something to be said for blowing the situation out of proportion in such a manner. What people fail to realize with all of these identity politics and groups trying to place themselves on the victim hierarchy the last ten years is that jews have been playing that game for hundreds of years. They've sought special privileges by painting themselves as blameless victims consistently throughout history.
People are more or less conditioned to panic at the hint of somebody acknowledging that though; as if it's totally normal to be able to question or doubt the intentions of any other group, but as soon as it's the jews everybody foams out the mouth, it's the modern day "Voldemort" as much as I hate drawing comparisons with fiction.
You're talking about a revision done thirty years ago, not recently. The issue with the Auschwitz-Birkenau numbers was Poland claiming an extra couple million non-jew Poles in addition to the 1.x million jews. There are a number of reasons why Soviet controlled Poland inflated non-jew numbers for forty-five years and then accepted a revised number after the fall of the Soviet Union. You're grasping in the dark.
