The man had a gun. He answered with it in his hand and with kind of jerky movements. Totally cop’s fault and he should be charged with manslaughter, but you take a chance answering the door with a gun in your hand when someone knocks and identifies themselves as the police. Could rule it a “death by cop” suicide given the circumstances.

Cop who shot had clear view of the gun and made a bad split second decision when the guy reared-back a little to take a knee.

The problem I have with the video is they only announced "Phoenix Police!" once. Never, EVER do that. You keep repeating it until you make contact with the person. Every 2 seconds, every 3 seconds, every 5 seconds. For your safety, not just for theirs. This is something I personally do all of the time.

This doesn't amount to murder but it's close. Worst part of this whole deal is now these officers have to live with doing this their whole lives. What a fucked up mess.

The gun was never pointed at them and he was getting down to lay the gun down. He should be able to answer the door with a gun without getting executed.
