I was in a night class in college when Obama Soetoro won the nomination and the teacher stood up in tears and announced that finally a black man had been nominated and that he was going to fix everything and make the world green! They truly expected him to roll out a cure for cancer, have the economy booming, and have all war stopped within one year. It was like the presidential speech from Idiocracy. The amount of shit they were willing to eat for the guy was alarming and their chatter literally sounded like a cult mentality.
