It's cold as fuck for a couple weeks and the winters can feel long but the other seasons are as beautiful enough to balance it out. Also if you like winter sports then it's ideal.
Minnesota does have the lakes, but the temperate climate is pretty humid during the summers. California is fairly dry in comparison. Was just asking out loud if MN would be their first pick of a new state to relocate to.
It's not common I think they tend to prefer west coast states, south west states and NV, CO, mostly. MN is nice if you want lower population, decent cost of living but still have a fairly decent meteropolitan city (it used to be decent at least).
The trade off is the cold, but keeping people away can be a pro also.

That's a good point. In 2016, it was essentially the Libertarian Party voters who ultimately made the difference in Minnesota. I think that if Trump can obtain some of the former Gary Johnson supporters in Minnesota this time, then the president has a decent chance to emerge victorious in that state. However, as we should know, winning there will certainly not be an easy task.

That said, I live in a red state and haven’t done a whole lot in the city. Between the Rona and my normal reclusiveness it could just be I haven’t been to areas I’m likely to see those signs. I do see a lot of people supporting Democrats in a chatter page for a town I live near. It’s a bigger suburban town adjacent to the city...but I still haven’t seen yard signs in it.

Seeing lots of support for Trump here in the blue state of Maryland. So far I have seen just ONE sign for Biden. It was actually a flag and the only reason I noticed it was because at first I thought it was a Trump flag. Edited to add that I always honk when I drive past a house with a Trump flag!
