I don't know about going full doomsday prep mode (it remains to be seen if the country falls into anarchy and chaos: people have to remember that these events are not happening over the majority of the country), but it would probably behoove people to have an emergency kit/supplies (useful for a natural disaster too); start physically and mentally preparing yourself for the situation where you do have to defend your family from these idiots (especially if you live near/work in a city or have to travel through/around one). Skills are in many ways more important than supplies as is mindset. I don't see this getting any better, in fact getting worse, from now through inaugeration day (and only if Trump wins -- if Biden wins, they'll turn these bastards loose on the country, then you need to prepare for the possibility of kissing your ass goodbye).

"I don't know about going full doomsday prep mode" lol If a person thinks having a firearm in the house, ammunition and a couple weeks food/water is "full doomsday prep mode", sad times ahead for that individual. You should have these items under normal circumstances and circumstances are far from normal. Lose the embarrassment over preparedness. You have it for the same reason Americans think patriotism and flags cramp their style; marxists in fake news, Silicon Valley and Hollywood have spent decades convincing our public to adopt those attitudes.

"if Biden wins, they'll turn these bastards loose on the country, then you need to prepare" Do not wait.

There seems to be some miscommunication here. "Doomsday prep mode", as I would define it, would be building a nuclear bunker in your backyard and buying a metric shit ton of MREs. If people want to do that, fine -- it's a free country -- I don't think you need to take it that far, but that's just my opinion (I could see some issues with it personally). Basic prepping is just what you've described, and I think that's a good idea no matter what.

I'd say we mostly agree. I would just hope for people to recognize that our public has been programmed by Hollywood, fake news and Silicon Valley to mock the prepared. Mocking the prepared... There just about couldn't be anything more obviously askew coming from the propaganda, aside from maybe "peaceful protesters" who throw bombs and blind people for upholding the law. I would encourage anyone to avoid passing that sentiment to other patriots whenever we can avoid it.

I don't mock the prepared, but I do think there is a big difference between smart preparing and stupid preparing. You need to work out something that 1. works for you and your situation/circumstance; 2. is as anti-fragile a system as possible. For myself, being tied down to one location with a large amount of goods is a very fragile system; so too would be the complete bug out option. I think people need to think a bit more before committing to something.
