I don't know the character of these teachers, but I get the impression that they are probably leftists and therefore will promote harmful ideology.

However, there is nothing wrong with having a space where kids can go, away from parents, to talk amongst their peers. I know for myself, going to school was a welcome respite from a difficult home life. I teach hundreds of students who genuinely benefit from seeing a male figure in their lives who will talk to them, teach them and not verbally or physically abuse them.

The problem is really bad teachers. Unfortunately I have worked with too many and they give the rest of us a bad name.

Students should be able to go to school, learn the fundamentals, share with peers and educators, experience new things, all in a safe place led by a trusted educator who is not trying to indoctrinate them (or otherwise hurt them) and instead demonstrates good citizenship and patriotism through actions.

This is idealistic, of course, but I will tell you that I try to live by that standard every day I'm in a classroom. I honor my students and teach them what I teach my own kids. I teach them to love America, even the immigrants. I had no fear when there were school shootings near us and lockdowns due to criminals roaming around, and I have no fear of this virus.

The difference here is that you, being a decent human being not trying to indoctrinate children, probably would have no qualms about parents listening in to how you are teaching their kids
