Thanks! The 336 was somewhere around $980 (MSRP), and I think the 1894 is about $1150 (MSRP)

Got my 94 chambered in 44.

Nice gun, but I hate the kick compared to some of my other stuff.

i prefer the 30-30 since it has better performance at 200 yards. Its like 2 inches drop vs 6. 44 has nice capacity though

44 is a pistol round, but the advantage here is to have the same ammo for the sidearm, haha.

In any case, 200 yards is excessive for urban combat (at least where I live). If I need that, I'm going with 308 WIN.

If you don't mind a not - so - fancy model, I've seen the 336 with a basic walnut stock for as little as $450 in-store before.

My particular 336 is a somewhat sought after model. Had to call sixteen local shops and distributors before I found someone who could get one for me, and the 1894 Cowboy just isn't a cheap rifle... But the basic model 336, if you don't want anything fancy, can be had pretty cheap.

No unfortunately; just the assurance that I'd finally be walking home after a long, looong search, with the most beautiful lever rifle I'd ever laid my eyes on.
