If you don't mind a not - so - fancy model, I've seen the 336 with a basic walnut stock for as little as $450 in-store before.
My particular 336 is a somewhat sought after model. Had to call sixteen local shops and distributors before I found someone who could get one for me, and the 1894 Cowboy just isn't a cheap rifle... But the basic model 336, if you don't want anything fancy, can be had pretty cheap.
No unfortunately; just the assurance that I'd finally be walking home after a long, looong search, with the most beautiful lever rifle I'd ever laid my eyes on.
