I live in Melbourne and yes this is happening now. The only clarification is that the army isn’t checking every home. They are making sure infected individuals are staying home prior to medical clearance.
Thousands have moved interstate or attempted to move over the past 3 months. There are major headlines stating this as fact. Due to the federal government and the banking system providing welfare and debt relief the affect isn’t as harsh as you would expect...for now. The leftist government is ‘toast’ at the next election.
Oh...and our Premier has stated that there was no “playbook” for what is happening in the nursing homes here. Guess his army of advisors didn’t bother to look at New York’s experience?? Like Cuomo, Andrews was offered Army support and refused it! He is also a CCP acolyte.
The bill comes due eventually. Even if the banks suspend mortgage payments, and the government suspends all regulations and taxes that lead to the requirement of these payments, people don't stop consuming.
Now you have a large population consuming but not producing. It can only go on so long until the entire thing breaks down. You can't just hit pause on life with no consequences.

I agree
