The P365 was just too compact for me. I love the P320 full size and I love full size pistols in general, but a compact just seems more practical for everyday carry. The P365XL seemed like a good balance of both.
With the 12 round magazine it gives you much greater purchase in terms of grip but the short barrel and body overall mean more felt recoil. But it's a tool in the end.
I bought the 12 round magazine for 60 something bucks direct from Sig, and it came with the plastic base plate attachment (not the floor plate, but the piece that you effectively grip the bottom of the magazine with) broke when I tried installing it. Contacted Sig and they said they couldn't ship me a new piece for whatever reason, that they don't have that piece alone available in their inventory, but they could just ship me a new magazine and piece if I sent it back. Well the magazine was fine so I refused and just use it as is, but needless to say I am a little disappointed at the fact that they made it so complicated to get a small replacement piece that broke on a expensive part. Not the best customer service experience I've had.
That stinks. The original 12s shipped fitted for the standard, with a separate flush floor plate for the XL. Now they ship the opposite, and you have to fit the extension floor plate for a standard.
I just did one last night. The trick is to use a real punch, and make sure the bottom retainer is properly compressed above the floor plate line ... or they can crack.
Sig and everyone else in the business is completely swamped right now. I’m surprised they even pick up the CS phones.
Honestly I only have the 2 that came with it. Magazines and accessories are hard to get like any gun stuff now. I'd suggest the SIG website but it said out of stock. Thing I realized with this is it's not like ARs where the magazine is a common design.
One other thing, only complaint I have with it is the magazines can actually be a little tricky to load. Maybe it's just that mine are brand new and may need to "break in" a bit.
If you can get to a gun show, there is always a mag vendor or two that has some 365 magazines. Because there are only OEM available, you will get genuine Sig. The typical gun show price is $45-50 each, which is not bad under the present circumstances.
The XL is decidedly bigger than the standard 365 in every way. If you want a great CCW pocket carry, the standard is the better choice. But the XL is an easier gun to shoot more accurately with, and it is still very compact.
The standard, while fairly accurate, will not group as well as the XL or any full size pistol at longer ranges. It is a ten yard or less personal carry tool. If you want a better longer range carry, then you have to go bigger anyway. The standard 365 is still more accurate than a J-frame.
The biggest gripe on the standard 365 is the small grip length. Use the optional 12 round mag, and you have effectively an XL grIp in a smaller carry. That’s what many 365 owners do.
The standard 365 is special because it packs a lot of rounds, and surprising accuracy , into a subcompact pocket frame.
The P365 fire control unit can be interchanged between the XL and the standard grip. It's easy to do. Buy the XL grip online for about $50 then put the fire control unit into the new grip module.
Sig makes fantastic weapon platforms that are modular and easy to modify.
That's true but I would prefer the longer barrel too, and the slide. I know you can technically buy that too, but at that price point you're practically buying a new gun.
I have the 365SAS and wished I’d gone with the XL with standard sights. I really wanted to like the Mepro sight, but after 1000 rounds I don’t think it’s going to work for me. Otherwise, a great compact carry.
It seems like such a great idea but I keep reading similar opinions.
I'd like to get a 365, but I'm torn between the carry-ability of the standard and the shoot-ability of the XL. I guess I've got time to decide - they're sold everywhere I've looked. I'll just keep on keeping on with the .38 snubbie for a while. :D
I found something very delicious to do with your goya chocolate cookies. I make my own mini ice cream sandwiches with them. The ones you buy at the store all suck. The cookie part is always soft and gets stuck to your fingers. Get some goya chocolate cookies, and put your favorite ice cream between them and eat or put some in the freezer for later. They are nice and crunchy like they should be, and that is something you cannot buy at the store.
Dried beans vs canned is like a ribeye vs lunch meat. My family has switched to dried beans even for things like baked beans and casseroles. Just make sure to use them soon for best texture. Year old dried beans are still usable, but newer ones cook better.
I'll have to get some more Goya and donate it. Didn't think of that, it's a great idea. I have some of my own stock but I just don't eat beans that often.
Non-compact? Yes, the full size is the P320, which is the service pistol of the US Army (M17 variant, which has a safety), the Dallas Police Department, the Texas Rangers, and others.
I love the P320 but wanted a compact for everyday carry. Full size are great to shoot, but just didn't think it would be as practical concealed. The P365, non-XL, just felt too small in my hands. I would however recommend that for women's self defense since it will easily fit in a purse. For that matter, it would probably fit in my pocket. It's that small. P365XL seemed like a good compromise. SIG pistols are what I'm used to from the Army so went with that. I like the simple, striker operation.
Whoa, first time having a post of mine stickied! Just trying to help out my fellow countrymen suffering from Chinavirus and lockdowns.
Good one to pop the cherry on. Nice pistol. Good job hooking up the folks with MAGA foods.
Congratulations! Great post!
Hey, thanks!
I have the P365 but I wish I had gone for the XL instead. Oh well, you live you learn.

I love my p365, it cant be seen. Perfect for the summer

This. The standard 365 is transformed by the 12 round magazine.
A much better grip, and a more accurate grouping, will result.

Give them awhile and repeat your request.
Everyone in the business is swamped with trying to produce enough product for the demand. And parts are all allocated.
Just saying. Demand is way over supply.
I have the xl and cant find magazines. Know of any vendors?

Buy an UpLula. You and your fingers will be glad you did.
I can load a 12 round 365 magazine in under 20 seconds with one.
Absolutely true! And buy a pink one. It will be less likely to "disappear" at the range if you happen to drop it!
I bought the UpLula this spring. I wish I had one 20 years ago!
Just keep searching for the part number - SIG-MAG-365-9-15
Academy looks like they have it - but pickup only in certain stores.

They should all come with both plates for the regular 365 and the XL mag well.
Thanks for the part number. I found a place that will have more Sept 22nd.

Depends on what you want.

Sig making the SAS stuff on other models now but it's been best suited for the 365.
365 is a life changer for those used to G43's.
You do have to choose what fits your hand though. And the best way is to test fire the contenders at a range that rents what you want.
You can have both.

Somewhere there is a very confused homeless dude wondering why he's suddenly being fed Mexican foods constantly
There's going to be a second wave of toilet paper shortage...
We should all donate a few boxes of ammo to our local foodbank!
No 9mm shortage here.
Share the general area?? I feel like a road trip, need MOAR 9MM.
Very cool, thank you u/HypeBeast420!

guns for the food bank? pretty dope gift.
Protect those beans
Great job
You robbed the food bank?!?!
Melanin fortified beans.
The feast of fiber and freedom.
Hey, so what's the difference between chick peas and garbanzos?
Answer: I've never paid to have a garbanzo on my face.
Ba dun tsss

Mirin. I happen to have the same carry piece, love it. First gun I bout when I moved to a free state a year ago. KAG mah pede!
I also carry a 365XL. Excellent choice. I run mine with a tlr 6 and romeo zero. Still conceals really well too.
I have a ppq, which I love, but damn. Very nice!
Ooh, how do you like that P365? I've been thinking about adding one to my collection.
Poll-
How is 9mm price and availability in your corner of the universe pedes?
Here in New England we're all sold out of fmj everywhere.
I'm in Texas and had to order online
XL-ent!
What’s more dangerous? The bullets that come out of that gun or the farts that will be created by those beans?
Plumba o frigoles. You get one!
Bruh Imma tell you right now they AIN'T gonna take the gun or the ammo.
Frijoles....NEGROS?!?!?!? REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I'll have to get some more Goya and donate it. Didn't think of that, it's a great idea. I have some of my own stock but I just don't eat beans that often.
Bullet burritos with a side of reeeeeeeeeee
Love my 365. Best trigger and sights.
Now all we need is a gun that shoots beans.
So beautiful I almost shed a tear
Love my P365, but that stamped steel trigger is kinda cheese-grade.
P365 XL is a great gun.
Commies would loveeee eating thoss bullets
What makes the 365 XL different? I've been thinking of buying a 365 as my next gun.
P365XL is a compact and the P365 is truly a subcompact.
Interesting. Is there an even more non-compact one then?
Non-compact? Yes, the full size is the P320, which is the service pistol of the US Army (M17 variant, which has a safety), the Dallas Police Department, the Texas Rangers, and others.
Why did you choose the XL over the others?
