But he appears over-restrained, to the point of inaction.
He’ll prosecute Antifa thugs for attacking a monument. But I don’t see him going after the blue governors committing wholesale violations of basic 1A rights. The latter is just as important, and a core function of the DOJ.
the governors have too much power. when they can issue an open ended state of emergency declaration, basically making them dictators and keep renewing their own powers, and then on top of the suffering they're causing, cause MORE suffering by letting racist assholes run loose destroying towns and beating people up who dont yield.
The DOJ effectively dealt with governors violating basic civil rights all through the 1960s.
These current governors trampling the right to assemble and freedom of religion under arbitrary and capricious standards are low hanging fruit by that model.
Barr could have dealt with that months ago. He chose not to. I won’t forgive him for that failure.
They're still saying "trust the plan" because they'll never do anything, don't want to leave the comfort of their homes, don't want to risk their neck, and so it's easy to be lulled by the false prophet Q.
I'd rather governors have too much power than Washington DC. The more local the govt the better. I'd go city/county level on as much stuff as is feasible.

For damned good reasons - he's the top law enforcement official in the land. The only people more powerful is the President, and the Supreme Court. He has specific and clear legal reasons to stay in very carefully chosen lanes. He has to follow rules and laws, chasing people who disregard them. Crime is fast, catching, trying, and convicting them takes time.
And, with the microscope he's under with the press and openly hostile political party, everything he says has potential for more lawsuits, attacks on him and the rule of law, and the process of defending the law. His every day is walking a minefield.
That's why i think previous AGs like Janet Reno should have been investigated and jailed, because they abused the power that they held. Reno should be in jail for Waco, alone.
Barr is deep state like his daddy. He knows what to say, but in the end has done nothing. A real AG would have prosecuted the crimes that we all know were committed
Are you Dr Seuss? Omar not being prosecuted is hearsay by the same "veteran insider" everyone is quoting. Citizens and watch dog groups can take this head on. We have a forest on fire and you are crying about a small grease fire. I would say timing has helped Omar. But she is not in the clear.
How can you be this delusional? The fake opposition GOP lost the 2018 election according to plan, they're doing their best to lose 2020, and even if they win they'll impeach Trump again before they left him go after one of their own.
Barr could throw everyone in jail tomorrow without bail and they'd be out in weeks once the election is over.
Historical case with exaggerations on both sides muddying the waters. D.C. judges that run protection, media complicit, angry mobs on both sides that will both end up angry in the end. Whatever happens will need more evidence than usual to prove there was no politicizing.
Barr seems to know what’s going on.

How?
It’s called a federal action, and it involves an injunction.
For violation of Constitutionally-protected rights.
The DOJ has only been filing them since the 1940s.
Back in the 1960s they used men with guns.
You need to lobby to get your state Constitution amended.

the govt (both sides) is really good at looking like they are doing something while accomplishing nothing at all. both sides are swampy

She's dead.

Or he knows what is coming and needs mountains of evidence and doesn't fall for their distractions to paint him as politicizing the DOJ.
