I'm taking a guess but it has to do with how we're standing with our Muslim Arab kebabs in Lebanon or something and how we'll help them and stuff when we can't even clean up Paris or Marseille from their stench... It's all about PR so they can sell more weapons to Iran and Hezbollah. That's how it goes. Europe (including Russia) sells to Iran and their friends, the US sells to the Saudi pilots' homeland, Israel, and their friends, and everyone's happy.
