Halper was his thesis advisor and he routinely recorded him to get the thesis guidence on the record (with Halper's full knowledge). During one of their meetings Halper mentioned Flynn explicitly to discourage this guy from going over and to work for Flynn. You can listen to the recording in the original article - looks like archive doesn't save that only the text.
Even if this guy is not credible he is releasing a LOT of facts which merit further investigation.
To that end he released it through Matt Taibbi's blog. I don't know if you guys know Taibbi but he's a journalist formerly with Rolling Stone where he also hosted a podcast. Bernie voter. He has a pretty extensive history of journalism in post ussr collapse countries as well.
However, Taibbi has been consistently critical of the entire Russiagate saga. He was doing interviews back in 2016 talking about what a farce it was. He's also talked about how this view has shut him out from main stream outlets and channels. He's covered every development that russiagate dredged up from Carter Page and George Pap / Flynn to the Horowitz report + Mueller as wells as Schiff only declassifying house intel documents after Grennnell said he was gonna release them anyway.
I think Taibbi spent like 3 weeks vetting the story which he detailed in a post following Schrage's story being published on his site. I trust his commentary on russiagate tbh. Super critical of house dems especially Pelosi / Schiff.
Matt Taibbi is old school. He'll go after anything that smells of a decent story and be ruthless in his pursuit of it. He's from the left, but not entirely of it.
Ya, that's what I was trying to say but you put it more succinctly. I don't agree with most of his politics but rarely does he insert them into the material he covers. He also makes some great points about how our media unquestioningly accepted intelligence during the onset of Russiagate.
The one thing that bugs me though is the conclusion he comes to with Russiagate. Being that his fear is the dems just handed Trump an easy path to reelection as he will use Russiagate and the Ukraine impeachment as campaign material. But shows little concern that the U.S Government used the only secret court in the land to spy on and campaign against a political opponent. He's since come around to this more and even begun to call Russiagate worse than Watergate, which is good. But it bugged me for a while.
Yes I did listen to the audio, Maria played it too on her show. I just find it way too odd that he’s coming out with All this Massive info 3+ years later right when durham is Supposed to drop. He seems to have an explanation of every odd thing somehow.
His story has a lot of truth we have known for a while. I am just questioning his motive for coming out now. The timing is very odd. His entire piece had zero mentions of CIA or Brennan which makes it more of a frame comey and get everyone else out safe narrative they are all pushing now.
You know what I've found out over the years. "Having an answer for everything" usually means you're being genuine and truthful.
Just an observation, not a commentary on this guy at all.
If this is so good for them, it helps them so much, why isn't this guy on CNN, and on the front page of the NYT? Why is the only one interviewing him is Maria Bartiromo?
All it takes is one interview in today's age, and who's to say he won't do more. The interview was done in tandem with the piece, like a coordinated 1-2.

His description of Goldman Sachs as "a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money and the article it came from gives you an idea of where he's coming from.
He's not got full TDS.
