That's exactly what I was thinking when I was reading it earlier today. Somehow this dude recorded Halper saying crazy shit about Flynn going down 2 days before the story was leaked in media. He just happened to record it happening? And he just happened to be sitting on it for 3+ years?
The entire piece seems like throwing FBI (James Comey) under the bus so he can be the fall guy while everyone else skates free. Just like how Lindsey Graham and Sally Yates threw Comey under the bus by calling him rogue. If anyone thinks all this was possible without the CIA, they are being played.
His story might have truth but he's not telling this to expose what happened. He's saying it to cover his ass.
Halper was his thesis advisor and he routinely recorded him to get the thesis guidence on the record (with Halper's full knowledge). During one of their meetings Halper mentioned Flynn explicitly to discourage this guy from going over and to work for Flynn. You can listen to the recording in the original article - looks like archive doesn't save that only the text.
Even if this guy is not credible he is releasing a LOT of facts which merit further investigation.
