The man replies, "Which one? Junior or Senior?"

52
edxzxz 52 points ago +52 / -0

But in the business world, everyone you deal with is motivated by a rational compulsion to do what is in the best interests of their business - in politics, you have Pelosi, Schumer, Nadler and Schiff who purposely tank the economy, whip nonsense into crisis and straight up lie to create false realities which for a rational actor, would be completely contrary to what should be their own best interests (serving the American people and advancing the interests of our country). Would you rather deal with Carl Icahn or Maxine Waters? This has to be maddening for POTUS as someone who has never worked as a politician before.

20
TheNewRepublic 20 points ago +20 / -0

But it makes them all the while vulnerable once you figure them out. The people their source of power needs to be dramatically exposed to the corruption and incompetency of Congress. Trump is painfully getting it done.

18
marvinthehaggler 18 points ago +18 / -0

Cui bono?

Maxine makes millions exploiting America, California more particularly, and Black Californians specifically. Pelosi and all the rest of them have their own grifts.

It's about the money (and power).

Trump sees that. And indeed is accustomed to dealing with people who play better, smarter games than this pack of moron shysters.

5
Scroon 5 points ago +5 / -0

I think Trump's power in this regard is his understanding of corporate management. He knows the ways that middle and upper management can be incompetent and he knows how those same people cover it up and pull political power plays to stay in control.

In Pelosi's case, she'd be like the efficiency manager who keeps the office in chaos to justify her position. If a new boss comes in and sees through her bullshit, she'll try to claim that the new boss's policies are making the office even worse.

Trump cut all that crap out when he issued his executive orders.

To be fair, I think they fully intended for people to spend it on stuff they didnt "need" to stimulate the market for non-necessity industries like restaurants, luxury manufacturers, retail and entertainment industries since they've been the most hit by the pandemic.

It wasn't supposed to to for bread rations, that was the point of the $600 bonus unemployment part, not the $1200 part.

4

Ono412Take2 3 points ago +3 / -0

I can understand that. My sisters family was in the same boat while also dealing with being furloughed so while according to taxes in the cut off bracket they werent actually still making cutoff bracket money.

At the same time, they love to bring up the study that shows mask which have a 14% improvement on mortality rates and even goggles at 8%, but they dont bring up that economic stimulus had a 144% reduction in mortality rates. That stimulus saved way more lives than any mask mandate.

3
TrumpsGlassOfWater 3 points ago +3 / -0

No I think you missed my point.

I'm GLAD that I spent it on stupid shit.

It was my patriotic duty to do so. Paying off credit card debt or something would have been selfish and a misuse of the intended purpose of a stimulus check. So would putting it in the bank.

It was ALL OF OUR patriotic duty to spend those checks on things to keep the economy going, not to horde it.

-2
DebbieinDallas -2 points ago +1 / -3

Of course I read your post. You were complaining that you decided to buy stuff instead of paying off debt on old stuff. Did someone force you? No. It was your choice.

1
DebbieinDallas 1 point ago +1 / -0

There were perverse incentives all the way around, starting with paying hospitals more for covid-19 deaths thus increasing/multiplying the panic thus extending lockdown/tanking the economy for no good reason. Long Live HCQ+Zinc+Zpak like they did in the slums of poor countries with no lockdown. This is all about the election and getting Trump.

-1
DebbieinDallas -1 points ago +1 / -2

DebbieinDallas -1 points ago +1 / -2

The $1200 went to everybody, working or not. The $600/mo for 5 months went to people who lost their jobs. Neither are massive amounts of money when you figure in the rent + food + health care etc. When you use the phrase “stupid corporate slave” you sound like a Commie.

Yep, my company did the same. Cut 10-30% depending on compensation package. Said that we all needed to stand together in these unprecedented times.

Fast forward to end of last quarter and we killed it. Wrecked all expectations and made moderately less than same quarter last year, in large part to them accepting 500+ million in govt assistance. Stock price even rose considerably.

And you might have guessed, no talk of standing together anymore. Zero mention of returning the money to us at all even though they had enough to donate to the NAACP to help combat racism. By the way, our CEO of Inclusion and Diversity(yea, that's not a made up position at all), who is blacker than the ace of spades was very proud of that "achievement".

Yeah man it sucks, but it is the cut off of most median wages. Have to put the line somewhere and 100k just feels like a nice round number to politicians. It's the same reason why the first 100 days and not the first 122 days are a big deal.

15
Ballind 15 points ago +16 / -1

It's not far above the cutoff for tax positive (and not even above it if you have a few kids). This is just crushing the middle class further while giving more handouts to the people who already aren't doing as much (poor/lower middle and corporations)

8
BoughtByBloomberg2 8 points ago +9 / -1

I 100% agree with you. But that's what the law said. Trump can't enact NEW policy, he essentially said "I am extending the deadline for this program in this law that is valid until repealed by executive order"

Congress set it at 100k. Guess that's why he's deferring payroll taxes to a blanket measurement of anyone paying it.

3
ippwndu 3 points ago +6 / -3

100k doesn't go far in California.

2
BoughtByBloomberg2 2 points ago +2 / -0

Only Fremont California has an median household income above 100k.

So like I said, I get it. 100% agree that it sucks for you, I didn't make the law, cause if I did shit would be going crazy by now! 20% sales tax and complete abolishment of all other taxes.

But the median household income in California is around the 65k. Meaning the majority of people in California will get those benefits... unless you live in Fremont.

But anyway chin up! Deferment of payroll will give you a bigger boost the more you make.

7
MemechineGun 7 points ago +7 / -0

13

It's a DEFERMENT and yes it applies to everyone even self employed people for 50%!

Don't get it mixed up with a tax CUT though. If Trump loses you WILL be paying those taxes next year. If he wins he said he'd get them waved entirely because that does require an act of congress. Congress sets taxes. The executive can defer on action upon collecting those taxes. But if you want that tax CUT of 8% for half of 2020 better make sure you vote.

All the info you need in the link.

Let the demon cities burn. Maybe the citizens will finally get their heads out of their collective asses and vote red.

SixteenBeatsAOne 18 points ago +19 / -1

I really think that with the anarcho-terrorist mob looting and rioting Michigan Mile last night, it'll finally get some traction with the press. Once the rioters attack the white part of the city, then there'll be some honest press coverage. And for those who said there was no honest press coverage with the New York City rioting, I don't remember Central Park South being part of that mob attack.

edxzxz 12 points ago +12 / -0

Once the rioters attack the white part of the city, there will be lots of dead rioters. Lots more will decide LARPing as pseudo military isn't as fun as their commie pals told them it was.

SixteenBeatsAOne 7 points ago +7 / -0

I am okay with that outcome.

7
spezisacuckold 7 points ago +7 / -0

We NEED to encourage some of that “peaceful protest” in the white areas of these big cities.

No deal. Tell them you'll see them in court.

Let the voters decide. Let them own this failure heading into Nov.

The more he repeats 'Blue State bailouts', the angrier people get, and the less negotiating power Pelosi & Schumer have.

Everyone else has to budget and live within their means. Why can't the State & Local governments do the same? Are private citizens allowed to just go on a ticketing-spree to shore up budgets? Nope.

Would a private citizen every get a bailout from the government? Nope, they'd tell us to fuck off and file for bankruptcy.

Not only did they not get bailout money for poorly run Democrat states and cities, he put them on the hook for a quarter of the unemployment money.

Might as well get a bunch of clowns to run congress, they’ll do a better job.

12
Grilledpepe 12 points ago +13 / -1

Part of the deal is they have to publically take a bath on coronavirus lies

7
KekistanPM 7 points ago +7 / -0

Even if they did that, I still don't think governors will relax their lockdowns.

"Okay so maybe the mortality rate is lower than we thought...and maybe HCQ with Zinc works...and maybe locking down businesses isn't as effective in stopping the spread as we thought.....

...but our ICU's are still a little more crowded than makes me comfortable, and the weather forecast is predicting some rain next weekend so I'm keeping the lockdown in place indefinitely."

Grilledpepe 5 points ago +5 / -0

This is a great point and I agree. I was 100% wishfully thinking lol. I know these people will never admit they were wrong.

For all the pedes with questions here is a link.

https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/deferral-of-employment-tax-deposits-and-payments-through-december-31-2020

This is a deferral. Taxes will be collected next year if Trump loses. Let that motivate you properly.

Cyer6 4 points ago +4 / -0

God that looked confusing. That was like trying to decipher the Matrix code.

BoughtByBloomberg2 3 points ago +3 / -0

HAHA good thing you basically have to do nothing. Your employer just doesn't deduct payroll unless you are self employed at which point you take off 50% of the payroll you need to pay and keep it.

At least that is how I understand it. Always talk with your accountant if you are self employed.

Trump could negotiate with the Chicago looters and get better results than negotiating with Cryin Chuck and "Let them eat icecream Nancy"

But not from Trump. This is him trolling the Fake News

4
TheBusiness 4 points ago +4 / -0

They have never seen anything like him nor know how a good deal works. They look like complete fools imagine being in office for 30+ years always getting your way by lining your pockets never being told no. Now they have no idea how to handle a real president for the people

4
KColl123 4 points ago +5 / -1

He's dealing with petulant children and he's treating them as such. He's not afraid of them, they know it, and it's pissing them off! He's stripped their power away.

4
SharkTeamTrump 4 points ago +4 / -0

It's almost like he wrote a book (or two) on how to make deals and win.

Shocking, isn't it?

4
rbobjones69 4 points ago +4 / -0

Too late, commies! The deal is done. Fight it in court and everyone will blame you for their financial troubles. GEOTUS is a genius!

4
sustainable_saltmine 4 points ago +4 / -0

They still won't cave on anything like they have to. They will still try to force some measure of unrelated bullshit to get the bill passed, GND, bailouts, something. I don't expect them to completely give up their nonsense and just pass a pure aide bill.

1
FliesTheFlag 1 point ago +1 / -0

they had in their last proposal, No Voter ID in any state. These people are fucking sick.

4
MaxineWaters4Prez 4 points ago +4 / -0

Bailout money, green new deal, reparations, mail in ballots, and all the pork they can lay on their friends and family.

3
unclebobinator 3 points ago +3 / -0

Call them and say "Sorry I'm busy, I have a tee off this afternoon." And slam the receiver down.

3
Choppermagic 3 points ago +4 / -1

OK, Trump gets his entire EO signed off in a bill and $25B additional for wall construction or go shove it

Donald J. Trump wins again against Schumer and Pelosi aka the S&P Sindex.

3
magnetar 3 points ago +3 / -0

Damn, there are people (more likely bots) who are repeatedly spamming idiotic memes on that. Literally just spending all their fucking time since he posted trying to get likes. Honestly I'm reaching my breaking point with the sheer idiocy going on, the country is acting so painfully fucking stupid it hurts.

President Trump has a "...pen and a phone"...but unlike Barry, actually puts it to good use.

Thank God for 'Caller ID'...I wonder what Trump's ringtone is for Pelosi?
