I was laid off from Boeing on July 31st after a 2 month WARN notice. There were many from my shop that took the early layoff in order to get the extra $600 a week. It was only $3000 added up against sticking it out and having the slimmest possibility of keeping my job somehow, not a huge amount to hope for the best, and I stuck it out.

As a 2 year employee I was making $22 an hour, in my state that gets me $548 a week in unemployement benefits, plus GEOTUS's $400 a week. If you cut the payroll tax it is about the same as if I was still working.

Now the question.
