He's just one of those people who has a ridiculously strong opinion on everything. He'll go off on a fifteen minute rant about fast food hamburgers and not like a for show rant like a comedian, he'll do it being dead serious as if he's discussing something life and death where his opinion is the objective truth.

It's some kind of mental illness or personality disorder and he obviously also has a major, major anger problem and does lots of projection. Lot of crazy people and major fuck ups have done well in that business so who knows.
