Chicago is a disaster right now. So far at least 2000 businesses will not be re-opening, and that survey was before all the destruction this weekend. The Mag Mile is gone. After seeing how little Lightfoot and her ilk care about this, why would any business owner deal with Chicago taxes to keep a storefront in the city?
I loved Chicago. Fun city. But right now, I don't see a reason to ever go there again.
As a Chicagoland resident (for now anyways), I can tell you Chicago is completely screwed. There's no way things are going to come back now. They did it to themselves starting with the Plandemic. Those stores would have actually been better off if they had paid protection money to the mob at this point, as the local government is useless.

Can you imagine your business surviving COVID shut downs, supply chain problems, funding issues. And then re-open to this?
