Nothing about what you're describing turns anyone gay. Trauma can be a factor. Trauma does not happen without abuse. Self reliance is not abusive. 60 years ago 12 year old children were not merely self reliant, but responsible for many other people. We didn't see this huge spike in trans or gay, and the increase had no correlation with this sort of childhood.
