I looked this up a while ago after hearing the stories about Fred Rogers serving in Vietnam and popping a bunch of commies, and while I'd love for it all to be true, there's no record of him ever having served in the armed forces. So either it's all bunk, or he was one of those guys who's deeds don't exist on paper. I'm not entirely sold on the latter not being the truth, regardless of what a nice guy he seemed to be on television. You never really know someone from the persona they put forth while in the public eye.
IDK do we have any evidence of what he'd do if violent mobs were burning, raping, and pillaging his neighbors? Even Jesus got violent now and then.
