You should have bought them when it was a 1000 rounds for about $320 I bought enough, cripes I was buying 7.62 x 51 for the price of your 5.56. build an AR in 7.62x39 works great
lol you kinda sound like the peeps that call AR's "weapons of war" and "assault rifles" smh. AK's and AR's are both awesome tools in the right hands. dont hate the gun, hate the game.
But, seriously, you should have both. Even during the worst ammo shortage you can get your hands on large quantities of cheap 7.62x39. In addition, they're really easy to field strip and fun to shoot.
BTW, there are US manufacturers like Arsenal and some of the Century Arms models. (Be careful on the Century Arms site, because they are also an importer.)
Because 223/5.56 is 65 cpr or more right now. 7.62x39 is still around 25 cpr at the moment.
Also small bullets don’t work as well in deep woods, they tend to deflect off brush more than bigger bullets.
It’s all about matching your weapon to your AO and SOP.

Somehow I read this in Solid Snake's voice...

Why not both?
