Then you'll end up with an authoritarian government fit for an immoral people. You will never be free again.

And you think you will be more free under a literal dictatorship? You would trade one form of tyranny for another. How short sighted can you possibly be? Why did the Founders give us a Republic and not a monarchy? You think they didn't know the benefits of a benevolent dictator? I promise, they are superior to both you and I for their wisdom. And yes, they warned us 200 years ago we must be VIGILANT or we will lose our liberties! WE failed, not them! WE failed to be vigilant!

Oh, I agree with this totally. I'm trying to get across that the shit we have now is absolutely NOT our Constitution though. It's a total perversion of it. There is no perfect system, you will not arrive at it and neither did our Founders. But we have the best system and we need to restore it and turn the ship around. You and I never actually lived under that Constitution. Its interpretation has been blatantly perverted so much from essentially the Civil War to today, you'd hardly recognize real America. It wasn't perfect either, there was injustice and breaches of liberty, but it was basically free. Don't throw that away, don't throw our whole country away out of frustration with a version of it that is a product of marxism. Marx wrote about a century after our nation was founded, and he was influenced by French revolution thinking, not American revolution thinking. Both claim to be "classically liberal," yet look how different in practice! Don't confuse them, don't throw out American virtues out of frustration with French vices!

Nobody is voting their way out of this.

Do you have an answer to my questions? Do you understand why the Founders rejected your idea?
