Perhaps your fear of fossil fuels has been programmed into you by our school system. I suggest you read the book "The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels". I too am a huge advocate for nuclear energy, in particular Gen IV reactors however with the ridiculous regulation towards that industry there is no immediate hope in sight. Fossil fuels are the best alternatives for energy if your standard of value is human flourishing.

My American friends make the joke that Wyoming should just be one giant wind farm. Would solve all the problems.
