I have a friend in Australia - he had to get a permit in order to go to work 100 meters from his house. They are on full lock down, martial law. $1600 fines for people violating regulations. It's even worse than Canada, and I thought Canada was insane.

Yeah in Melbourne is particularly bad. Not surprising that the state premier who thinks highly of China and signed up for the belt/road initiative went straight to ‘show me your papers!’ authoritarianism.
