Once they succeed the organised groups will find it easier to grab power while the unorganised people dissolve away. This is what usually happens in riots. The only time the communists get fucked over are when organised muslim groups protest along with them. In Egypt the leftists student protests got hijacked slowly by Muslim Brotherhood and Morsi came into power.
