That's a great way of thinking under the assumption you are going up against someone that plays by the same rules as you.
Communist (also known as Democrats, in this country) don't play by the same rules. They will chest, lie, and destroy their way into power.
Just remember, Fidel Castro won elections for over 50 years in Cuba.
