They’ve definitely accomplished that a lot of places. But honestly, they don’t even have to do that. If, through schoolteachers and tv, they convince our kids that private ownership of guns is just a weird relic of a former time, then when we die and leave our guns to them, they’ll either sell them off or turn them over to be destroyed. The armed population shrinks. Same result.
You don’t stage MRAPs and SWAT and roll through a neighborhood kicking in the doors of registered gun owners. That gets noticed. This kills the stepper.
Red Flag laws might be the boldest step toward disarmament in recent memory. Presumably they operate like the rubber-stamp FISA court, but it’s still not mass disarmament, for whatever the fuck that’s worth.

I'm not sure they have to take our guns. Just making us unwilling to defend or incapable of defending ourselves may be enough.
